NaPoWriMo Day 29 – Sleep War

For Day 29 Prompt you’re going to have to check out NaPoWriMo’s Day 29 post because the prompt is far too long to share on here! Plus I’m not going to use it anyway. Too much thinking involved. I post my poems basically with only minutes to spare! I have to fix the settings on my time because it has my day starting a couple hours before it really does. Ok fixed! I am posting in real time here!

I am also getting awfully sleepy and random prompt from random person is: war. Personally this is a boring prompt but whatever, here goes. I will write this piece without backspacing at all, because why not. Ok bismillah (in the name of God). Poem started at 11:45

Sleep is for the weak, they argue
As my eyes get heavy, I wonder if that’s true

I’ll sleep when I die, he said
Should I too, ignore my warm bed?

The battle between day and sleep
Is one far more entertaining than counting sheep

I’ve got only 6 hours to wake up, I must go
“I have to be up in less than an hour”, she

What’s a girl to do, stay and play?
O rest up for an upcomming busy day?

Truly a difficult choice
I think I’ll just.

Poem ended at 11:51. Not too bad for no backspaces – if I wanted to change some things, I would have started the 6th line differently “is one far more…” and of course the typos in the third line from the bottom. But other than that, I like it. Especially since I wrote it in less than 10 minutes! I’m pretty sure everybody struggles with this at times – I don’t know why we love to remember to do everything last minute or want just a few more minutes. Alas that is the human existence – always wanting what we can’t have.
